WHY CATHOLIC?
In
the Fall of 2007 the Diocese of
Knoxville implemented the RENEW International's WHY CATHOLIC?
program. WHY CATHOLIC? is a four year program consisting of 48 sessions on
Catholic beliefs, sacraments, morality and prayer conducted in a small community
environment. Immaculate Conception Church has followed the Diocese's lead in instituting the WHY
CATHOLIC? adult faith formation program which is based on Sacred
Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
RENEW International based in Plainfield, NJ, is a Catholic not-for-profit organization that has a 25-year record in revitalizing parish life and has touched the lives of more than 25 million individuals in thousands of parishes across six continents. RENEW International President and co-founder Msgr. Thomas Kleissler
commented, "Many people are seeking meaning beyond today's culture. They are also looking for ways to
share their faith confidently with the people around them. WHY CATHOLIC? aims to be part of what the
bishops have called 'a life-long process of total Catholic education that has as its heart, evangelization.'"
