Vietnamese Community
(continued)
In order to build a strong Catholic Vietnamese community with our faith traditions we have been conducting evening prayer services once a month in a parishioner's home to pray for the sick and
deceased and for world peace. To keep togetherness and spirit of unity, social events such as picnics, Vietnamese New Years Day celebrations and mid-autumn festival are organized for the community.
We always want to be part of Immaculate Conception church and have tried to be involved in church ministries and activities. With the help of a group of Vietnamese volunteers whose children go to Saint Joseph School and Knoxville Catholic High School we raised approximately $1,000 for Saint Joseph School by selling home made egg rolls at the school Fall Festival.
A
very special Immaculate Conception Vietnamese parishioner Joseph Hieu Vinh, at
God's call, joined the Catholic Deaconate Program Formation in 2001. He
graduated and was ordained on June 9, 2007. He was a member of Immaculate
Conception's Pastoral Council and Director of the Vietnamese Choir Group. He
also conducts confirmation classes for adults who have not yet received the
Sacrament of Confirmation. Thank you Hieu for your dedication and
service to Immaculate Conception.
In God's faith, we live. For additional information contact Ann Payne (865) 579-2062.
