We are seeking an enthusiastic, full-time pastoral director of music and liturgy to serve our multi ethnic/racial parish family in the heart of revitalized downtown Knoxville. We are only about an hour from the beautiful Smokey Mountains. Responsibilities: planning and coordinating various aspects of music/liturgy as well as recruiting and training various liturgical ministers, cantors and choir for weekends, holy days, rites and sacramental celebrations, including funerals. Weddings are negotiated separately. Requires knowledge and experience of Catholic liturgy and its musical forms (both traditional and contemporary), proven organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Demonstrated skills: vocals, keyboard (including organ), choral conducting, administration, budgeting. Liturgical music degree preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
