Paulist Fathers 150th Anniversary
Formally known as the Missionary Society of
St. Paul the Apostle, the Paulist Fathers were founded by Father Isaac Thomas
Hecker in 1858 as the first religious congregation of Roman Catholic men
established in the United States.
Today, the Paulist community - which boasts of 150 priests joined in ministry by the Paulist Associates and lay collaborators in 22 Parishes throughout North America - continues the legacy of Father Hecker by seeking out those who desire healing and reconciliation with the church, working toward Christian unity and maintaining a positive dialogue with faiths outside the Christian tradition. Whether in a parish or college campus, producing a video or publishing a book, the Paulists give the Word of God a voice by meeting the needs of people today.
