Immaculate Conception Church
Heritage Festival
About 200 parishioners attended Immaculate Conception's 150th Anniversary Heritage Festival held on June 12, 2005.
The Heritage Festival included an ethnic pot-luck dinner, entertainment and displays. The pot-luck dinner featured dishes
from 20 different countries. All of them were outstandingly delicious. The entertainment consisted of ethnic singing and
dancing, story telling and native countries information presentations. It was all extremely informative and delightful.
The Heritage Festival was a tribute to Immaculate Conception's multi-cultural, multi-faceted Catholic community which
was represented by parishioners with origins from Peru, Brazil, Scotland, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Italy,
France, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Egypt, Lebanon, Australia, Africa, Haiti, and Malaysia. Many thanks to parishioners
Beth MacDonald, Margaret Duncan and Connie Healy who organized the event and to all those who prepared the wonderful
ethnic dishes and provided the charming entertainment and displays.
