On Saturday, August 9th the
Irish Fest on the Hill
was held from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The Irish Fest featured traditional live
Irish music by the Shamrock Road
band and
the Four Leaf Peat
band.
Corned beef and cabbage, sausage with peppers and onions (provided by the
Foundry), and
hamburgers and hot dogs (provided by the Knights of Columbus) were served. There were children's activities, raffles,
a silent auction and a cash bar which featured Irish beer. Homemade Irish
desserts were prepared and sold by the IC Women's Group. The
Irish Fest on the Hill
was sponsored by the Pastoral Council with much needed help from volunteers, the Knights
of Columbus and IC Women’s Group. All Knoxville area Catholic Churches and all seven
KICCUP Inner City member churches were invited to the
Irish Fest on the Hill. We had folks from St. John's Lutheran Church,
Church Street United Methodist Church,
John XXIII,
Our Lady of Fatima (Alcoa), Sacred Heart, Holy Ghost and All Saints who joined
us. It was a great evening, no it was a fabulous evening.
