Immaculate Conception Church
150th Anniversary
Celebration
On December 8, 2004 Immaculate Conception parish, the mother church of the
Knoxville Diocese, celebrated the opening of its 150th Anniversary year with a
Celebration Mass. Bishop Kurtz celebrated the Mass with Father Jim Haley, the then
Pastor, Father Joe Ciccone, our soon to be new Pastor, and Father Jim Brucz, our
Associate Pastor in attendance. The Knights of Columbus Council 645 in their formal
dress were Honor Guards.
Because of our parishioners generous GiFT donations all restoration work on our
beautiful church had been completed.
The church's steeple was lit for the first time in
its history by the new outdoor lighting. A tribute
to Father Jim Haley's endless efforts.
The congregation in attendance were proud to be part of Immaculate Conception church,
a beacon on the hill.
